The Doors of No Return at Cape Coast Castle

Global initiative

The Tower of Return Project

A living symbol of reconnection — anchoring a global movement for the diaspora to return, contribute, and rebuild.

The Doors of No Return — reframed as the Doors of Return.

The original wooden doors of Cape Coast Castle in Ghana — through which our ancestors were taken — are now under our stewardship. The Tower of Return Project transforms these artifacts from monuments to loss into monuments of restoration: a permanent global anchor for the African diaspora's return, contribution, and continuity.

The Tower will host the doors as a living installation alongside research, fellowships, and convenings that translate symbolic return into operational systems — economic, educational, cultural, civic.
